If you tell most people that conversational hypnosis is a language based technique that enables you to control the behaviour of other people they'll probably think you're nuts. The very idea of mind control or brainwashing seems like the stuff of comic books, or nightmares depending upon how you look at it.

However conversational hypnosis is real and really does work. In fact people have been using these psychological and linguistic techniques for centuries. The Internet has now placed this knowledge in the hands of ordinary people like you and I. As with any skill that achieves mass popularity conversational hypnosis is experiencing a meteoric period of development and refinement.

Today conversational hypnosis is undoubtedly the most remarkable tool for hypnotic control ever devised.

So how does conversational hypnosis work and why is it so much more effective than previous types of hypnosis?

Firstly, the principles that underpin conversational hypnosis are no different from other forms of hypnosis. Where conversational hypnosis differs is in the application and delivery of hypnotic language. Therefore, before we can discuss these remarkable techniques we first need to understand the basic principles of hypnosis.

The human mind consists of three main elements. The first is the unconscious mind. This is basically the element that controls the functions that keep us alive. Breathing and heart rate is regulated by the unconscious as are other auto-responses, such as increased adrenalin when we are frightened or more endorphins when we are happy. The unconscious mind is not analytical and simply responds to the messages sent from the analytical parts of the mind.

The subconscious is analytical and contains the accumulative experience and knowledge we have accrued during our lives. It's capacity seems virtually limitless and it uses language and imagery to catalogue the information it stores. The conscious mind is the front end, if you like. It is the part of the mind that makes decisions. It makes decisions based upon the information it receives, via our senses, balanced against the knowledge stored in the subconscious. The conscious mind both acts in response to the subconscious and provides the subconscious with new information and understanding.

Conversational hypnosis, like any other form of hypnosis, is a process that allows access to the subconscious mind. When the conscious mind is sufficiently occupied some of the defense mechanisms that normally protect the subconscious from direct influence are diminished. Hypnosis takes advantage of this fact and hypnotists use this opportunity to make suggestions to the subconscious which can profoundly effect someone thoughts or behavior.

This occupying of the conscious mind is called a hypnotic trance and the process of putting someone in that state is called hypnotic induction.
All  previous methods of hypnosis have relied upon the subjects agreement to participate in the hypnosis. They also normally require a special “hypnosis environment” such as within the context of a stage show or in a psychologists consultation room. The trance is usually catatonic, or sleep like, and the induction invariably requires a degree of physical contact or sudden shock. In these crucial respects conversational hypnosis is very different indeed.

Conversational hypnosis uses nothing other that apparently normal language for all aspects of the hypnotic process. This means that it doesn't appear to be anything other than a fairly normal conversation. There's no need for any objects or unusual sounds to draw someone into a trance and induction takes place using nothing other than words. The trance itself, referred to as the 'open trance' in conversational hypnosis, is really a period of intense concentration. The person being hypnotized remains wide awake and perfectly alert throughout.

This means that conversational hypnosis can be carried out anywhere where you can have a discussion. So really anywhere then.
This also means that you don't need the permission of the person being hypnotized to perform the hypnosis. This is a massive game changer and is the biggest single reason why conversational hypnosis is so incredibly powerful.

If you ask someone if you can hypnotize them, even if they agree, they remain aware of the hypnotic process. Therefore any suggestions that are made to the subconscious are viewed by the minds defense mechanisms as being the product of said hypnotic process. However, using conversational hypnosis, the subject is not aware that they are being hypnotized at all. This means that the defense mechanism, called the 'critical factor,' barely registers the delivery of new information from the hypnotist. Therefore, ideas that are delivered using conversational hypnosis are viewed by the subconscious as original, self generated thoughts. They are both more powerful in their ability to effect behavior and longer lasting.

So, as I hope you can see, conversational hypnosis really is a skill that enables anybody to hypnotize anyone. It's not particularly difficult to learn and there are plenty of good quality courses available online. The ability to make people do as you want has a tremendous impact upon your life. So if you are looking for a way to make the most out of your opportunities maybe you should learn conversational hypnosis.
